BORG Automotive wins Automechanika Innovation Award 2026 in Sustainable Drive Solutions

The award was presented at Automechanika Frankfurt, where BORG Automotive’s eDrive Motor was selected as the winner in the Sustainable Drive Solutions category following its nomination by an international jury of automotive experts.

The eDrive Motor is a central component in hybrid and electric vehicles, responsible for propulsion and energy recovery while driving. With valuable materials, advanced electronics and high-voltage technology involved, remanufacturing the component requires extensive expertise and dedicated processes.

BORG Automotive has developed a remanufacturing process for used eDrive Motors, including dedicated inspection, diagnostics and functional testing. The solution has already been successfully prototyped for motors from two vehicle manufacturers and has the potential to provide the independent aftermarket with a high-quality alternative to a new OE component or an untested second-hand unit.

Receiving the Innovation Award in the Sustainable Drive Solutions category is an important recognition of the competence, dedication and continuous improvement behind the development.
